Oyamel Cultural Project

We are excited to introduce the Oyamel Project for the 2025-2026 school year at Telesecundaria 194, located in the picturesque community of Carboneras, Hidalgo.

This cultural initiative seeks to transform the education of students in grades 7, 8, and 9 through classes and workshops in music and guitar, art, English, meditation, ceramics, chess, dance, and theater, seeking to provide enriching opportunities that include attending concerts, plays, museums, and workshops.

In a community where material resources are scarce, but spirit and beauty abound, we rely heavily on passionate volunteers who donate their time and talent to teach these vital classes. However, we urgently need to raise funds to secure art supplies, musical instruments, chess boards, and to pay some instructors.

Together, we can cultivate youth talent in Carboneras and preserve its rich cultural heritage in the heart of the Oyamel region.
